Chi-Town Hoop Dreams

With the summer nights in Chicago absolutely gorgeous as of late, I bought a basketball so we can shoot hoops at our local park. The other night Kelly wanted to pursue her long lost hoop dreams and show off her court skills by challenging me to a couple of games of HORSE and 1-on-1. It was a valiant effort on her part but she ended up on the losing end. I ended up teaching her a few moves so it can be a bit more competitive the next go round. πŸ˜‰ Big ups to summertime hoops.

  1. Luckily, the horrors of seventh grade basketball camp are only a lingering memory now. πŸ˜‰

I still believe in your b-ball skills and potential Kelly. Nice posture and balance on the release of your shot here. Here’s some tips from Coach Ken to think about while Kris is defending you. Get the release off over your head more. And definitely don’t be afraid to step into his space, but your shoulder into his torso, and then step back to get some space to get your shot off. Otherwise, he’ll be lurking and ready to swat your shot away. Otherwise, you may hear him giving ya smack like “Not in my house!” hee hee
