Happy Weekend! Kris and I had a fancy date night last night (you can read more in a subsequent post – stay tuned) and woke up bright and early this morning to hit the Farmers Market nearby. What started as a quick trip to pick up some squash ended up in an adventurous and delicious morning!
We started at our neighborhood Division St. Farmers Market and bought some croissants, squash and flowers. I bought these Sweet Williams and popped a Peony in the mug – so cute! It was such a beautiful morning that we decided to walk a little further and hit up a second farmers market in Lincoln Park. The Green City Market is probably one of the best in Chicago. YUM!
After buying some elk and lamb and asparagus, we wandered around Lincoln Park – the Zoo and the Conservatory.
We headed back through the park on our way home and ran into something called the Peace Festival. It was very San Francisco Haight-Ashbury. The “band” had more of a “sound”, if you know what I mean. 😉 And, the impressive skyline view from Lincoln Park. Have a great Saturday everyone! Chi-town’s Finest is going to cook up some of our farmers market goodies for dinner!
